Company announces first HGACBuy purchases from departments in Texas and Virginia.

SUPERIOR, Wis. (January 24, 2019) – Lake Assault Boats, part of Fraser Shipyards and a leading manufacturer of purpose-built, mission-specific fire and rescue boats, announced that a wide array of the company’s craft is now available for purchase through HGACBuy, the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s (H-GAC) cooperative purchasing program. Two departments – one from Dallas and a second from the state of Virginia – recently made Lake Assault Boats purchases through this Texas-based national organization.

“Purchasing through the HGACBuy cooperative is a real win-win,” said Chad DuMars, Lake Assault Boats vice president of operations. “It’s great for us but, most importantly, it enables our customers – fire and rescue organizations from across the country – to buy our products in a streamlined fashion and at an excellent value.”

H-GAC has been serving local governments for over 40 years. Products and services available through its HGACBuy cooperative (more than 7,300 items from 798 vendors) have been subject to either a competitive bid (IFB) or a competitive proposal (RFP) process. This enables government entities to purchase through a more streamlined process at pre-negotiated prices.

Lake Assault Boats fire and rescue boats available on HGACBuy include 14 distinct configurations, including landing craft, V-hull or catamaran-style hull; full-width, T-top or walk-around pilot house; fire pump options; a wide selection of electronics; scene and emergency lighting packages; and a choice of engine options from a variety of manufacturers.

“Specifying a custom-built, mission-ready Lake Assault Boats emergency craft is a simple process through HGACBuy,” added DuMars. “We’ve listed a wide selection of sizes, styles, and pre-configured options and power packages that give our customers the ability to choose a boat that fits the needs of their department.”
